Bruno- son of the great Jose Michel, learned much from his father- especially that well cultivated Pinot Meunier can produce sensational Champagne. (Bruno produces a 100% varietal Meunier with his 'Cuvee Clement')
With 13ha of vines in the village of Pierry (just south of Epernay). The mix being 50% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Meunier and 10% Pinot Noir. Bruno has 40 parcels of vines all situated in pretigous mid-slope positions. Vine age varies between 30 and 72 years for the oldest parcel. Yields are very low, with Bruno only producing 70,000 bottles from his vineyards, which is 50% of the normal allowed production. Some have made comparisons with the wines of Anselme Selosse, but showing greater finnesse and respect for their terroir.
The estate has been organic since 1999 and a small 2ha parcel is now bio-dynamic
Subtle use of oak and stainless steel allows Bruno to create a complex array of authentic artisan Champagnes
