Possessing 21 hectares in Moussy, Pierry, and Chavot situated just over the hill from the Cote des Blancs. The soil is a mixture and marly clay and shares the minerality and purity that is expected.Ths house is also a personal favourite of Richard Juhlin author of '4000 Champagnes', so let us hope that the Scandanavians don't take up all that is exported! Although legendary for his straight Pinot Meunier cuvee, production was ceased in the seventies and it is only recently that it has come back into production.
A member of the Club de Tresors, the grapes that go into the Special Club cuvee date back to 1929. Pinot Meunier is a much maligned variety, but when planted in the right sites with respect to terroir, and yields seriously controlled through vine age- something magical can occur.
