Tasting Notes

We have been very fortunate to secure the last of the 1996 vintage stocks, as they have now moved to the 1998 vintage. The 1996 Piper won the coveted "Sparkling wine of the Year" award from Decanter magazine. 1996 is considered by many to be one of the greatest vintages of the past 50 years. It was a year that produced extremely healthy, ripe fruit, yet still managing to retain high acidity levels that gave the wines a wonderful freshness and longevity. An incredibly generous wine, with rich coffee, toast, grilled nuts and a never-ending finish. Most other 1996s are long since sold out, stock up on whatever you can get your hands on.
